Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms carefully before booking with J&J Removals.
These terms and conditions govern the services provided by J&J Removals & Clearances ('we', 'us', 'our') to you ('the customer'). By booking our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. Quotations
All quotations are provided in good faith based on the information supplied by the customer at the time of enquiry. Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
If the volume of goods, access conditions, or any other relevant factors differ from those described at the time of quotation, we reserve the right to revise the price accordingly.
Quotations do not include parking charges, congestion charges, toll road fees, ferry costs, or any other third-party fees unless expressly stated in writing. For long-distance UK moves, any additional fuel surcharges will be agreed in advance.
2. Bookings & Confirmation
A booking is confirmed once you have received written confirmation from us. We recommend confirming your booking as early as possible, particularly during busy periods such as weekends and end of month.
It is your responsibility to ensure all details provided at the time of booking are accurate, including addresses, access information, and the full inventory of items to be moved.
3. Cancellations & Amendments
Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the agreed move date will incur no charge.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of the agreed move date may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the quoted price to cover costs already incurred.
If you need to amend your booking date, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate changes subject to availability.
4. Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring all items are ready to be moved at the agreed time. Delays caused by items not being packed or ready may result in additional charges.
You must ensure adequate access is available at both the collection and delivery addresses, including parking for our vehicle. Any parking fines incurred due to inadequate arrangements will be passed on to the customer.
You must inform us in advance of any items that are particularly fragile, valuable, or require special handling. We cannot be held responsible for damage to items not declared prior to the move.
Hazardous materials, flammable substances, illegal items, and perishable goods must not be included in the removal without prior written agreement.
5. Our Liability
We take great care with all items entrusted to us. In the unlikely event of damage or loss caused by our negligence, our liability is limited to the repair or replacement value of the item at the time of the move.
We are not liable for damage to items that were already damaged, poorly packed by the customer, or not declared as fragile prior to the move.
We are not liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of earnings, delays caused by circumstances beyond our control (such as traffic, adverse weather, or mechanical breakdown), or damage to property resulting from restricted access.
We strongly recommend that customers arrange their own contents insurance for the move. We can advise on specialist removal insurance if required.
6. Payment
Payment is due on the day of the move unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept cash and bank transfer.
We reserve the right to withhold delivery of goods until full payment has been received.
7. Delays
We will make every effort to arrive at the agreed time. However, we cannot guarantee exact arrival times due to factors outside our control such as traffic conditions. We will notify you as soon as possible if we anticipate a significant delay.
8. Complaints
Any complaints must be made in writing within 7 days of the completion of the move. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days and aim to resolve it within 28 days.
You can contact us by email at JJRemovalsAndClearances@yahoo.com or by phone on 07848 414131.
9. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
